Local Information

North Lodge Parish lies to the north of Chester-le-Street town. View the maps section of the website to view the Parish Boundary.

Most housing lies between the A1(M) and the East Coast railway line. Picktree Village is the major exception in lying to the east of the A1(M). Lambton Castle and much of its grounds lies further east.

Park View School Lower Site is found to the east of the A167 (North Road), off Lombard Drive in North Lodge Estate.

Further information about the school can be found on the Park View Community School website.

Play areas within the Parish are located at Merlin Drive and Low Flatts:

Merlin Drive
Low Flatts

If you are a cycle commuter, long distance cyclist or leisure walker, Sustrans Coast to Coast cycle track can be directly accessed at various points in the Parish. This track forms part of the major C7 cycle route which runs from South Shields to Inverness in the North of Scotland.

Both the Lambton Worm and the Wheatsheaf Inn, located on the A167, offer daily food and accommodation.
Pelaw Grange Greyhound Stadium lies to the west of the A167, off Drum Road.

Drum Road Industrial Estate with its wide range of business and warehouse facilities lies to the west of the main East Coast railway and is ideally located for access from Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham and Teesside.
